ChangeNOW-Les Echos Ranking
ESCP Business School is proud to maintain its 2nd place in the 2024 ChangeNOW-Les Echos ranking for ecological and social transition
ESCP has once again demonstrated its place among the top schools in France for ecological and social transition by incorporating these values into every aspect of our activities.
This ranking aims to guide the public towards the institutions that will best prepare them to become tomorrow's agents of change who integrate environmental and social issues more fully into their processes (including teaching, research, institutional strategy, student careers, etc.).
Co-produced by the French media group Les Echos and ChangeNOW, one of the largest European organisations of sustainability innovators and entrepreneurs, the fourth edition of this ranking, unveiled on November 7th, 2024, assesses 60 schools, including 32 engineering and 28 business schools.
A Message from the Associate Dean for Sustainability
Amongst the recent initiatives that are helping ESCP to drive forward its sustainability goals:
A crucial step in measuring and reducing our carbon footprint
This year, ESCP completed its first federal carbon footprint assessment for the 2022 academic year. Aligned with EU targets, this is an essential step in ESCP's commitment to reducing carbon emissions by 55% by 2030.
Expanding Sustainability Education at ESCP
We have developed dedicated training for our faculty with experiential deep learning in partnership with "Le Campus de la Transition," yielding positive results since 2022. During the 2023-2024 academic year, two new specialisations (120-hour course blocks) were introduced: Sustainability in International Business and Responsible Innovation in Africa.
New Chair for Responsible Innovation in Africa
ESCP has established a dedicated Chair for Responsible Innovation in Africa to support our mission of responsible leadership on a global scale. The chair aims to help transform Africa for a sustainable future and develop the human capital needed for its social and ecological transition. It focuses on ethical innovation and career opportunities in Africa.
New recruitment in the Sustainability Department
Established in April 2021, the Sustainability Department addresses ecological and social transition challenges through education and research, empowers change, and engages with the community and societal stakeholders. Today the Department consists of 17 full-time faculty and 5 affiliate professors and has increased the number of PhD students from 5 to 14.
Active Engagement in Convention des Entreprises pour le Climat (CEC)
In 2023, ESCP joined two tracks within the CEC, an initiative involving over 150 major enterprises working toward climate-positive practices. ESCP participates in both the “Financial World” track—where Professor Dr. Christophe Thibierge represents the school’s expertise—and the “New Imaginaries” track, which explores innovative storytelling approaches that aim to incentivize sustainable behaviour. ESCP was one of only two business schools that were actively involved in this endeavour, otherwise driven by the corporate sector.
