Call For Mentors Batch #3
ESCP’s Women in Finance x Femstory Mentoring Programme

ESCP Business School’s Women in Finance Chair is proud to continue its partnership with Femstory, a non-profit organisation co-founded by two ESCP alumni, Julia Stadler and Cécile Defort, to launch the third batch of their successful mentoring programme. This initiative empowers young women aiming to build careers in finance by pairing them with experienced professionals for career guidance and personal development.

Following the successful launch of the first two batches earlier this year including a total of 100 mentoring pairs, we are now calling for mentors to join Batch #3. The programme is open to all male and female professionals currently working in the financial sector who are keen to share their expertise as mentors and make a positive social impact.

Programme Overview
The 4-month mentoring programme offers a structured journey for both mentors and mentees:

  • Kick-off Event: A 45-minute online meeting where mentors and mentees are introduced to the programme and have the opportunity to network.
  • First Contact: Mentors and mentees will be introduced via email. Mentees are responsible for scheduling the first session (30-60 minutes) within the first week.
  • Mentoring Sessions: Mentors and mentees should aim for at least one session per month to maximise the programme's value.
  • Checkpoint: Midway through the programme, a checkpoint is held to review progress and share insights.
  • Closure: After 4 months, the programme concludes with a reflection on the mentoring journey, feedback collection, and a celebration of achievements.

Mentor Expectations
As a mentor, you will serve as a role model and guide for your mentee, providing career advice and insights. You will also:

  • Offer monthly guidance tailored to your mentee’s career goals.
  • Support their growth by introducing them to potential opportunities and networks.
  • Expand your leadership and coaching skills with tools provided by the programme.
  • Foster a positive, open environment that encourages learning and self-confidence.

Previous Success: Batches #1 and #2
Feedback from mentors and mentees has been overwhelmingly positive. Mentors found the experience rewarding, citing the opportunity to refine their coaching skills and help young women grow in confidence and clarity regarding their career paths. Mentees, in turn, valued the exchange with seasoned professionals, gaining insights into the finance sector, interview preparation tips, and guidance on enhancing their professional skills.

Key highlights from the closing event of Batch #2 on 12th September 2024 include mentees receiving tailored advice, ongoing communication with mentors, and many pairs choosing to continue their relationship beyond the programme.
